Day 69: The Rap

Mile: 751 to 760

"Nature is my towel." - Hardway

So sleeping in is pretty fun.  I'll take the cold any day over the desert heat that forces you to hike at dawn.  Again, we all huddled in our tents as long as possible before freezing our butts off to hike out.  When we eventually did, Hardway and Boom decided to scramble up another mountain, so Genie, Spearhead, and I had some great QT as we strolled, mostly downhill in the warming day, to our riverside camp spot.

And CAMP it was!  Camp Slow Magic!  That evening we roasted marshmallows over a campfire, the boys played catch with a little football, we played several games of cards with an ever expanding card club, and Boom and I gave an official performance of the rap we had been diligently practicing.  That's right.

One fellow camper jokingly commented that he could tell our group takes hiking seriously.  That's when I realized I'm really not the athlete type... I'm a Girl Scout through and through.
