Day 138: Crater Lake

“No wash til Washington!” - Hodgepodge

Lazy Boys!  We slept in, took our time and eventually got moving out of Mazama.  You would think we were hiking through the desert or through some terrible place the way that we were procrastinating on getting moving.  But you know,  Crater Lake was a couple miles away, and we have zero excuses.

Yeah, Crater Lake pretty.  We unexpectedly found Animal chilling at a picnic table next to a bunch of tourists.  The plan was for him to hike ahead and take it easy, but not this easy!  Evidently his shin started hurting even in the couple miles between Mazama and Crater Lake :(. Mega bummer.  We all left after another hour of procrastinating and polishing off two sleeves of Ritz crackers and one of Oreos.  Eeek!

The Crater Lake Rim Trail was surprisingly poorly managed, but the views were pretty bomb as we wound from 6 o clock to 11 o clock around the lake.  That’s all I got folks.  Look at the pretty pictures and go visit crater lake if you are nearby, it is stunning!
